SANDY RIVER ROAD BRIDGE CLOSURE JUNE 11 - 12
Daytime closure during drilling

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Motorists will use alternate routes between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, June 11 and, possibly, Tuesday, June 12, weather permitting, while the Sandy River Road (Route 614) bridge over Tanyard Creek in Pittsylvania County is closed to traffic for geotechnical drilling.

Geotechnical drilling is an investigative tool used to determine, among other items, the suitability of soils for construction.

The closure will be from the intersection of Retreat Drive (Route 1068) to the intersection with Cozy Lane (Route 971).

Signs and other traffic control will be in place to alert motorists to the closure.
