WEIGHT LIMIT LOWERED ON ROUTE 619 BRIDGE, HALIFAX COUNTY

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has lowered the weight limit on the Route 619, Hardings Mill Road, bridge over Hunting Creek in Halifax County.

Built in 1965, the 41-foot long, 26-foot wide structure is posted at 16 tons following the discovery of deterioration during a recent inspection and changes to the Department’s posting ratings. Previously, the bridge was posted at 19 tons for all vehicles.

Route 619 has an annual average daily traffic volume of 110 vehicles per day.
