Community stream walk, public meeting on Dec. 12
ALEXANDRIA – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a community stream walk and public meeting Wednesday, Dec. 12 on plans to restore Pikes Branch along Telegraph and Old Telegraph roads.
The stream walk will begin at 3 p.m. to take advantage of daylight hours. Participants should meet at Hope United Church located at 6130 Old Telegraph Rd, Alexandria. Due to safety concerns, the stream walk will take place along Old Telegraph Road and will not enter wooded areas.
After, a public meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Franconia Governmental Center at 6121 Franconia Road in Franconia to review final plans. VDOT staff will be available to answer questions. For residents who are unable to make the stream walk, a video will be posted on the project page and also available at the public meeting that evening.
