TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Night Work on Route 50 in Upperville
For two weeks beginning Sunday, Oct. 14, Route 50 in Upperville will be reduced to one lane at night while crews mill and pave the roadway as part of the Upperville traffic calming project.
The lane closure will be in effect Sunday night through Thursday night each week from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. There will be no night work on Friday or Saturday nights.
Wide loads and tractor trailers should use alternate routes. Virginia State Police will be on site each night to assist motorists and help protect the construction crews.
The traffic calming project began in March and will be completed by early December. It is designed to slow traffic, improve safety for motorists and pedestrians and help preserve the historic and rural nature of the corridor.
