            Traffic Advisory: Route 50 and I-495 Detour

            What:              ?>Overnight Road Closure

Where:          Route 50 eastbound at I-495 Outer Loop                               

When:           Tues., March 11 at 10 p.m. to Wed. March 12 at 5 a.m.

Wed. March 12 at 10 p.m. to Thur. March 13, at 5 a.m.

Purpose:      The eastbound Route 50 bridge was damaged by a truck earlier in the year. Work is scheduled to be completed by May 12, 2008 but the work may be completed earlier.

Detour:         Traffic heading east on Route 50 will be diverted to southbound I-495 outside the Beltway, and onto a service road paralleling the Beltway, back to eastbound Gallows Road, over I-495 to the inner loop and back to Route 50 East. Variable message boards have been in place since Friday, March 7.
