VDOT to Hold Meeting on Centreville Road Construction Schedule
The Virginia Department of Transportation is holding a “Pardon Our Dust” meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 9, in the Floris Elementary School cafeteria to explain the construction schedule and traffic plan for the Centreville Road widening project. Construction is currently underway and will be completed next December.
From 7 to 9 p.m., VDOT project engineer Oscar Jamilla will be available to discuss the sequencing of construction and traffic impacts on the community. Residents are encouraged to attend.
This 2,000-foot section of Centreville Road from West Ox Road to Frying Pan Road is the final section of Centreville Road to be widened. When completed, the $6.8 million project will provide a continuous four-lane roadway from Chantilly to Herndon.
The project includes a 10-foot wide bicycle and walking trail on the east side, a five-foot wide concrete sidewalk on the west side, and drainage improvements.
The meeting will be held in the Floris Elementary School cafeteria at 2708 Centreville Road in Herndon, Virginia.
