ROUTE 50 OVERNIGHT CLOSURE at SEVEN CORNERS
Traffic detour for pedestrian bridge construction
FALLS CHURCH – The Virginia Department of Transportation is shutting down all lanes of Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) through the Seven Corners area on Saturday night, April 18, while bridge beams are put in place for a pedestrian bridge near the Seven Corners Shopping Center. The road will be closed from 8 p.m., Saturday, April 18 until 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 19. Traffic will be detoured around the Seven Corners intersection which will add about 10 minutes to the normal travel time.
Detour: Westbound traffic will turn left on Patrick Henry, right on Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west to and back to Route 50. Motorists heading east on Route 50 will travel the detour in reverse. The detour will be marked with variable message signs, and Fairfax County Police will be monitoring traffic throughout the night.
