VDOT CREWS CONTINUE TO TREAT ICY SPOTS
9:30 a.m. update: Interstates and major roads are wet and clear; use caution in subdivisions

CHANTILLY – While interstates and most major routes in northern Virginia are clear and wet, Virginia Department of Transportation crews continue to treat trouble spots on secondary roads and in subdivisions. Crews will remain on duty to treat icy spots in these areas throughout the day.

Pavement temperatures are expected to rise above freezing by mid-day, but drivers are asked to continue using caution, especially on hills, curves, bridges, ramps, overpasses and other spots that may remain icy. Refreeze of wet roads is also expected overnight tonight.

To report trouble spots in northern Virginia during winter weather, motorists can call 703-383-VDOT. For updates on road conditions, as well as real-time weather, incident information and traffic camera video, drivers should visit www.511Virginia.org.
