NIGHT PAVING ON ROUTE 29 AT GALLOWS JULY 20
Traffic shifted and reduced to one lane in each direction

MERRIFIELD― Route 29 will be shifted and reduced to one lane in each direction between Merrilee Drive and Gallows Road Friday night while crews pave the northbound lanes as part of the ongoing intersection project. Barrels will be in place and flaggers will guide both directions through the southbound lanes from 10 p.m. Friday, July 20 to 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21.

Police will also be on scene. Electronic message signs are in place to notify drivers.

The $110 million ($23 million construction) project at Route 29 and Gallows Road will be complete in November 2012 and includes improving and widening the intersection, constructing dual left-turn lanes on Route 29 at Gallows, a sidewalk, shared-use path, and landscaped medians. Visit VDOT’s project page for more information.
