VDOT TO HOST MEETING ON NOISE WALLS
FOR DULLES CONNECTOR ROAD
McLEAN—The Virginia Department of Transportation is holding a “pardon our dust” meeting in preparation for its project to construct sound walls on the Dulles Connector Road between I-66 and Route 123/Dolley Madison Boulevard beginning in September.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at McLean High School, 1633 Davidson Rd McLean, VA 22101. There will be a presentation and question and answer session.
The noise walls are being built to mitigate noise from the traffic on the Dulles Connector Road and from the Metro Silver Line, which has been constructed at-grade and on elevated tracks along the Dulles Connector Road. There will be about two miles of sound walls on each side of the Connector Road. The walls will be located on both sides of the Connector Road.
Construction on the $35 million project will be complete in May 2015.
