WASHINGTON BOULEVARD RAMPS TO COLUMBIA PIKE CLOSED THURSDAY NIGHT
Traffic detour and shift to newly constructed bridge

ARLINGTON – Washington Boulevard northbound ramps to Columbia Pike East and West will be closed from 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 until 4:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22. The closure will allow crews to shift northbound traffic onto the newly constructed bridge. In case of inclement weather or unforeseen events, this work will be performed from 7:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26.

The closure will require motorists to follow a detour. All northbound Washington Boulevard traffic destined for Columbia Pike will be detoured to 2nd Street South to South Courthouse Road and back to Columbia Pike.

This design-build project replaces the Washington Boulevard bridge over Columbia Pike in Arlington. The new bridge will be wider, longer and a great deal more attractive than the old structure.
