Longer left-turn lanes to improve safety and wait times

Longer turn lanes are complete at southbound 28 and I-66.

Longer turn lanes are complete at southbound 28 and I-66.

CENTREVILLE—Shorter wait times, reduced congestion and safer traffic flow are expected for drivers on southbound Route 28 in Centreville, as the Virginia Department of Transportation has just finished extending the left turn lanes from southbound Route 28 to eastbound I-66. The two turn lanes are now longer by about 750 feet.

The $4 million project also included demolishing and upgrading the raised median and adjusting drainage. The work was completed by Martins Construction Corporation. More project details: http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/northernvirginia/sully_road_left_turn_lanes.asp.
