ALLDER SCHOOL ROAD CLOSED FOR THREE WEEKS
Closure needed for emergency culvert repairs, detour in place
PURCELLVILLE – Allder School Road between Route 287 and Purcellville Road is closed for at least three weeks for emergency culvert repairs, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The culvert over South Fork Catoctin Creek (pictured) failed Tuesday, prompting the closure.
Traffic is being detoured via Purcellville Road, Hirst Road and Route 287 back to Allder School Road.
The closed portion of Allder School Road averages 350 vehicles (including as many as 35 school buses) a day.
