Join VDOT for the latest on project design and provide input
VIENNA – The Virginia Department of Transportation is holding a design public hearing Tuesday, Nov. 15 on plans to improve and widen Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) from four to six lanes between Reston Avenue and Jarrett Valley Drive to increase capacity, decrease congestion, and improve safety.
The project includes intersection improvements, as well as a 10-foot shared-use path on both sides of the road to enhance mobility for cyclists and pedestrians.
Additional improvements include:
- Constructing a partial interchange at Baron Cameron Avenue to reduce congestion
- Relocating Lewinsville Road and creating a displaced left-turn intersection
- Replacing and raising the Difficult Run bridge to reduce flooding
The public is invited to stop by between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at Colvin Run Elementary School, 1400 Trap Road, Vienna, VA 22182 to view displays and learn more about project design. VDOT staff will be available to answer questions.
A brief presentation will begin at 7 p.m.
Comments may be provided at the meeting or sent to VDOT by Dec. 2, 2016. E-mail or mail comments to Mr. William Dunn, P.E., Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030.
