SHREVE MILL ROAD CLOSURE STARTS NEXT WEEK
Paving of gravel surface will occur over six weeks
LEESBURG – On Tuesday morning, April 5, Shreve Mill Road will be closed between Evergreen Mills Road and the Dulles Greenway for approximately six weeks to replace the gravel road surface with pavement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
In addition, the ditches will be restored along this stretch of Shreve Mill.
Only residents within the work zone and emergency responders will have access during this time. Through traffic will be detoured via Evergreen Mills Road, Battlefield Parkway and Sycolin Road back to Shreve Mill. Motorists will be able to access the Greenway by following the detour.
The project is being carried out under VDOT’s Rural Rustic Road Program, which aims to preserve the traditional feel of a rural road while making surface and other improvements within the current right-of-way.
