Public Information Meeting for Backlick Road Bridge Replacement
Join VDOT Jan. 26 to learn about project and provide input

ALEXANDRIA – The Virginia Department of Transportation is holding a public information meeting Thursday, Jan. 26 on plans to replace the existing Backlick Road bridge over CSX Railroad with a new bridge that accommodates future railroad tracks. The bridge is located just east of the Backlick Road/Fairfax County Parkway intersection south of I-95.

The project is occurring as part of the Atlantic Gateway improvements, which aim to relieve congestion and improve capacity via road and rail improvements along the
I-95 corridor.

The public is invited to stop by between 6:30 and 8 p.m. at Island Creek Elementary School, 7855 Morning View Lane, Alexandria, VA 22315 to view displays and learn more about project. VDOT staff will be available to answer questions.
