Overnight Closures at Route 27/110 May 7 - 19
Bridge beam placement

ARLINGTON – Lane closures, including intermittent total stoppages, and ramp closures will be occurring overnights at the Route 27/Route 110 interchange Monday, May 7 through Saturday, May 19 in order to install bridge beams, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Unless otherwise noted, closures on Sunday nights through Thursday nights will occur between 10 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. each night; closures on Friday nights and Saturday nights will occur between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night.

The closure dates as are follows:

  • Westbound Route 27 – Left lane closure Monday night, May 7 through Saturday night, May 19.
  • Westbound Route 27 – Full closures each up to 30 minutes Monday night, May 7 through Saturday night, May 12 (between midnight and 4 a.m. each night)
  • Ramp from eastbound Route 27 to northbound Route 110 – Total closure with detour** Monday night, May 7 through Saturday night, May 19.
  • Northbound Route 110 – Two right lanes closed Tuesday night, May 8 and Monday night, May 14.
  • Northbound Route 110 – Full closures each up to 30 minutes Tuesday night, May 8 and Monday night, May 14 (between midnight and 4 a.m. each night)
  • Southbound Route 110 – Two right lanes closed Wednesday night, May 9 and Tuesday night, May 15.
  • Southbound Route 110 – Full closures each up to 30 minutes Wednesday night, May 9 and Tuesday night, May 15 (between midnight and 4 a.m. each night)
  • Ramp from westbound Route 27 to the Pentagon – Lane closure with flagging Thursday night, May 10 and Thursday night, May 17 through Saturday night, May 19.

**Traffic will be detoured via Route 27, George Washington Memorial Parkway and I-395 back to northbound Route 110.

The work is part of the Route 27 over Route 110 project, which is scheduled for completion this summer.
