Overnight Ramp Closure, Traffic Stoppages at Route 123 Interchange September 21-22

FAIRFAX, Va. – Ramp closures and traffic stoppages will occur on Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) at the I-66 interchange next Friday night and early Saturday morning.  The ramp from Route 123 South to I-66 West will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. on Saturday, September 22.  Traffic will be detoured to the I-66 East exit, to Route 123 North, and then to the right for the ramp to I-66 West.  There will also be periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes for traffic on southbound Route 123.  The closure is needed to place concrete barriers along previously shifted lanes and remove an overhead gantry.

Additionally, the ramp from Route 123 North to I-66 East will be narrowed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.  There will be periodic traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes on both the ramp and the through lanes of northbound Route 123 between midnight and 4 a.m. so that crews can remove an overhead gantry.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
