Overnight Ramp Closures on I-66 Westbound at Route 29 Interchange in Centreville This Weekend

FAIRFAX, Va. – Lane closures and temporary ramp closures are scheduled for overnight hours this Saturday, October 6, on the ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville, and Sunday, October 7, on the ramp from southbound Route 29 Centreville to westbound I-66.  Closures are needed for construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Saturday, October 6: I-66 West between Stringfellow Road and Route 29 Centreville

  • Three left lanes will be closed on westbound I-66 between Stringfellow Road and Route 29 Centreville between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m.
  • Intermittent 15-minute stoppages will be implemented.
  • The ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville will be closed during Saturday night’s overnight hours between midnight and 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured prior to the ramp closure to Route 28 South then follow signs to Route 29 South.

Sunday, October 7: I-66 West between Stringfellow Road and Route 29 Centreville

  • Three left lanes will be closed on westbound I-66 between Stringfellow Road and Route 29 Centreville between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • Occasional 15-minute stoppages will be implemented.
  • The ramp from Route 29 Centreville South to I-66 West will be closed during Sunday night’s overnight hours between midnight and 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured farther west and directed to make a U-turn at O’Day Drive then follow signs to I-66 West.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
