Overnight Ramp Closures on I-66 this Weekend and Next Week
Closures Planned at Route 234 Bypass and Route 123 Interchanges

FAIRFAX, Va. - Overnight ramp closures are scheduled to occur this Saturday, October 27, on the ramps from southbound Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) to westbound I-66, and from northbound Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) to westbound I-66. There will also be overnight closures beginning Monday, October 29, through Friday, November 2, on the ramp from northbound Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) to westbound I-66. Closures are needed for construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Saturday, October 27: Ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) South to I-66 West

  • The ramp from southbound Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) to westbound I-66 will be closed beginning at midnight and reopening Sunday at 4 a.m. to repair a crash attenuator.
  • Traffic will be detoured farther south to the I-66 East ramp, stay to the right for Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North, and then follow signs to I-66 West.

Saturday, October 27: Ramp from Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North to I-66 West

  • The ramp from northbound Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) to westbound I-66 will be closed beginning at midnight and reopening Sunday at 4 a.m. to repair a crash attenuator.
  • Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to I-66 East, take the exit for northbound Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) then follow signs to I-66 West.

Monday, October 29 – Friday, November 2: Ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North to I-66 West

  • The ramp from northbound Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) to westbound I-66 will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for construction activities and clearing operations.
  • Traffic will be detoured farther north to westbound Jermantown Road, make a left on Rosehaven Street, a left on Rose Forest Drive, then a right on Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) South, and follow signs to I-66 West.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
