VDOT Completes Four Projects On-time and On-Budget in September
Savings amount to more than $400,000

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va.— The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) Richmond District continues to improve its delivery of on-time and on-budget construction and maintenance projects, completing four projects in September. All of the projects came in on-time or ahead of schedule and were under budget. Collectively, the projects finished 132 days ahead of schedule and saved $419,747 or 15 percent of the originally budgeted contract amount.

“This is an outstanding combined performance by the private sector construction partners, consultant inspectors and VDOT employees,” said Christopher Winstead, P.E., VDOT district construction engineer. “Our team focus on results is returning measurable time and cost savings to the traveling public.”
