BENJAMIN HARRISON BRIDGE CLOSED TOMORROW AT 5:30 A.M.
Due to mechanical complications

Benjamin Harrison Bridge (Prince George/Charles City) – The Benjamin Harrison Bridge (Route 106/156) will be closed tomorrow morning at 5:30 a.m. to allow crews to run test and determine the cause of the bridge malfunctioning today (closed to maritime traffic). There is no estimated end time for these tests. Another traffic alert will follow when the bridge is reopened. Bridge will remain open to maritime traffic until further notice.

Motorists will use the following detours. These detours are approximately 28 miles one way. As a result, VDOT advises motorists to plan their route ahead of time and allow for a minimum 30-minute detour.
-Northbound Rt. 106/156 – Rt. 10 west through Hopewell to I-295 north to Rt. 5 (Exit 22) west through Henrico County
-Southbound Rt. 106/156 – Rt. 5 west into Henrico County to I-295 south to Rt. 10 (Exit 15) east through Hopewell.

This work is not related to the Benjamin Harrison Bridge improvement project.
