TRANSPORTATION BOARD APPROVES ONE CENTRAL VIRGINIA CONTRACT VALUED AT $3.5 MILLION

RICHMOND—The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) approved one contract yesterday valued at approximately $3.5 million for central Virginia construction and maintenance.

Blakemore Construction Corporation of Richmond, Virginia was awarded a contract to make improvements to the development along Ashcake Road, which serves as one of the most heavily populated areas in Hanover County. The Sliding Hill Road project begins north of the Hanover County Industrial Air Park and ends northeast of Route 643 (New Ashcake Rd). Sliding Hill Road is currently a two lane rural major collector road with poor horizontal and vertical alignments. The project will modify the existing alignments to make it safer for the traveling public. The anticipated completion date is April 2010.
