TRANSPORTATION BOARD APPROVES ONE CENTRAL VIRGINIA CONTRACT VALUED AT $4.3 MILLION
RICHMOND—The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) approved one contract last Thursday valued at approximately $4.3 million for central Virginia construction and maintenance.
Lee Hy Paving Corporation of Glen Allen, Virginia was awarded a $4.3 million contract to repair and repave I-295 south between the Woodman Road interchange (mile marker 45) and the Route 1 interchange (mile marker 43) in Henrico County. This project will include repairing and repaving the collector distributor road at the Route 1 exit and guardrail replacements along the corridor. Bridge decks will not receive asphalt overlay. Pavement under bridges will receive permanent patching and smoothing only since asphalt overlay would cause a decrease in the bridge clearance height for trucks. Construction is expected to begin in late May/early June and continue through November 2009.
