VDOT TO HOLD CITIZEN INFORMATION MEETING ON COX ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN DINWIDDIE
Public invited to learn more about the project May 18 at Eastside Enhancement Center
SOUTH CHESTERFIELD —The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a citizen information meeting on two projects to improve the Cox Road (Route 226) corridor in Dinwiddie County. A roundabout is planned for the Ferndale Road (Route 600) at Cox Road (Route 226) intersection and improvements will be made to the Boydton Plank Road (Route 1) and Cox Road (Route 226) intersection. The roundabout at Ferndale Road and Cox Road will address safety and road capacity needs, as well as improve aesthetics. The Route 1 at Cox Road improvements will consist of minor widening to provide better turning movements and will accommodate bicyclists.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Eastside Enhancement Center, located at 7301 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, VA 23803. This meeting will be largely an open house format, which will provide attendees an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to learn more about the construction that began this spring. A general information presentation will be given at 5:30 p.m.
Anyone requiring special assistance to attend and participate in this meeting may contact VDOT’s Civil Rights Division at (804) 524-6091 or TDD/TTY 711.
