TRANSPORTATION BOARD AWARDS CONTRACT FOR PAVING
$5.3 million project to resurface 118 lane miles on 14 primary routes in the Richmond area
COLONIAL HEIGHTS — At its monthly meeting yesterday, the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) awarded a contract worth approximately $5.3 million to Slurry Pavers, Inc. of Richmond, Va., to pave multiple routes in VDOT’s Richmond District.
The work will resurface over 118 lane miles on portions of 14 primary routes across ten counties in the Richmond region, with much of the work planned in Prince George and Henrico counties. The resurfacing will allow for safer travel and help prolong the working life of the existing pavement. The paving work will be completed in the 2018 paving season, along with multiple other planned paving projects.
