VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING ON ROUTE 1 (S. WASHINGTON HIGHWAY) IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN THE TOWN OF ASHLAND
Public invited to learn more about the proposed project on June 20
SOUTH CHESTERFIELD —The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public meeting on an improvements project on Route 1 (S. Washington Highway) in the Town of Ashland. The proposed project will improve operations and safety by widening the road to four lanes and adding left turn lanes and sidewalks on Route 1 between Ashcake Road and Arbor Oak Drive.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 20 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the VDOT Ashland Residency, located at 523 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. This meeting will provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to give VDOT input on the project.
Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the meeting or until June 30 by mailing them to Adam Brooks, project manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, South Chesterfield, VA 23834-9002. Comments can also be emailed to Adam.Brooks@VDOT.Virginia.gov. Please reference “Route 1 improvements comments” in the subject line.
