VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON ROUTE 1 (JEFFERSON DAVIS HIGHWAY) WIDENING IN RICHMOND
Public invited to learn more about the proposed project on September 25
COLONIAL HEIGHTS —The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public hearing on a widening project proposed for Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) in the City of Richmond. Proposed improvements include reconstruction and widening of Route 1 from its southern intersection with Chesterman Avenue to its intersection with Fairfax Avenue. Additional improvements include turn lanes, new traffic signalization and sidewalks.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 25 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at T.C. Boushall Middle School, located at 3400 Hopkins Road, Richmond, VA 23234. This meeting will provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to give VDOT input on the project.
Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the meeting or until October 5 by mailing them to Adam Brooks, project manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, Colonial Heights, VA 23834-9002.
