TRAFFIC ALERT: EXPECT LANE CLOSURES ON INTERSTATE 81 FOR IRONTO BRIDGE IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY TONIGHT AND TOMORROW NIGHT
As part of the ongoing work on the I-81 Ironto bridge at mile marker 128 in Montgomery County, drivers can expect additional lane closures on southbound I-81 tonight (April 30) and on northbound I-81 tomorrow night (May 1).
Tonight, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., a mobile lane closure will be in place on southbound I-81 at mile marker 128. Traffic will be slowed and reduced to one lane while pavement is patched. Drivers will need to expect delays and use caution. During this mobile lane closure, wide loads on southbound I-81 will need to detour onto Route 11/460 at Exit 132 (Dixie Caverns) to be re-routed back onto I-81 at Exit 118 (Christiansburg).
Tomorrow night, from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m., northbound I-81 traffic will be reduced to one lane at mile marker 128. Drivers should expect changing traffic patterns and use caution.
