SALEM – All lanes of northbound Interstate 81 are currently closed due to a tractor-trailer accident at mile marker 167.8 in Botetourt County.  Traffic on northbound I-81 is being detoured onto Route 11 at exit 162 and back to northbound I-81 at exit 168.

Crews are in the final stages of accident cleanup.  However, it is unclear at this time how long the lane closures will remain in place.  Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow for extra time on their morning commute through this area.
