TRAFFIC ALERT: INSPECTION WORK WILL CAUSE LANE CLOSURES ON INTERSTATE 581 IN ROANOKE
Motorists should expect lane closures on I-581 on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 20-21.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, crews will inspect
the Elm Avenue bridge
over Interstate 581 in Roanoke.
Motorists should watch for various lane closures on I-581 northbound on
Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on I-581 southbound on Wednesday,
Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Elm Avenue bridge was struck by an over-height vehicle on Monday, Jan. 12. The additional inspection work will help determine what repairs will be needed.
