TRAFFIC ALERT: NIGHTTIME PAVING ON ROUTE 40 EAST IN FRANKLIN COUNTY BEGINS SUNDAY

SALEM – Weather permitting, starting Sunday, Oct. 4, nighttime lane closures may be in place for paving on the section of Route 40 east between its intersections with Route 706 (Woodman Road) and Route 655 (Webster Road).  This section of Route 40 east is located in Franklin County between the east limits of Rocky Mount and Redwood.  

Paving will be performed during nighttime hours, Sunday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.  Traffic will be controlled with a pilot truck and flaggers.

Motorists should watch for signs and expect possible delays.

Estimated completion is in October.
