TRAFFIC ALERT: SECOND TRAFFIC SHIFT PLANNED ON ROUTE 460 IN BEDFORD COUNTY

SALEM – Weather permitting, starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, drivers should expect delays on Route 460 east of Bedford.   Route 460 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and shifted into the eastbound lanes.  Two-way traffic will remain in the eastbound lanes until approximately 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 28.

A similar traffic shift was in place on Route 460 on Wednesday, May 20.

The westbound lanes will be closed while crews pump out water that has pooled along the road’s shoulder due to a collapsed drainage pipe.  The pipe collapsed during heavy rains two weeks ago.

The pipe is located on Route 460 just west of the bridge over the Little Otter River between the intersections at Route 825 (Twin Lakes Drive) and Route 715 (Krantzs Corner Road/Merriman Road).

For updated Route 460 traffic information, visit the www.511Virginia.org Web site or dial 511.
