SALEM – Work to remove debris from a rock and mud slide on Route 636 (Friendship Road) in Montgomery County has been completed.  The road is located in Shawsville.

The Virginia Department of Transportation had hired a contractor to remove about 4,000 cubic yards of rock and debris from the roadway.

The slide on Route 636 occurred in late January.
