TRAFFIC ALERT: EXPECT NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN ON NORTHBOUND ROUTE 220 ROANOKE COUNTY AT STABLE ROAD

SALEM – As part of ongoing improvements in Roanoke County at the intersection of Route 220 and Route 766 (Stable Road), a new traffic pattern will go into place today, Thursday, Oct. 21.  This intersection is located in the Clearbrook area just south of Roanoke.

Northbound Route 220 traffic will be shifted to travel in the existing right lane and on a newly paved widened right shoulder.   New pavement markings are being placed on this section of Route 220.

The traffic shift is needed due construction of a new left turn lane leading from southbound Route 220 onto Stable Road.

Signs will be in place on Route 220 to alert drivers to this traffic change.
