TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 220 EXPRESSWAY RAMP ONTO FRANKLIN ROAD IN ROANOKE CLOSES OVER WEEKEND

SALEM – Work to repair a water line will close the exit ramp leading from northbound Route 220 Expressway onto Franklin Road in Roanoke.  The ramp will be closed to traffic starting Friday, April 9 at 10 a.m. and will remain closed until Monday, April 12 at 6 a.m.

Crews will work around-the-clock to repair the water line, so motorists will need to seek alternate routes while work is being performed.  To access Franklin Road from northbound Route 220 Expressway, drivers can use the Wonju Street exit, turn right onto Colonial Avenue and then turn right onto Brandon Avenue.

Message boards will be used to alert motorists to the closure.
