SALEM – Motorists should watch for lane closures on Interstate 581 at Elm Avenue in Roanoke City beginning Tuesday, June 29 at 10 p.m. Crews will be working during the overnight hours to make repairs to the Elm Avenue Bridge.   

Work is scheduled to begin on the northbound side and progress to the southbound side in the following weeks.  Work will be performed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday this week and next.  Beginning the week of Sunday, July 11, crews will be working during the overnight hours Sunday through Thursday until the work is complete in late July.  

Motorist should use caution and watch for signs and message boards.
