TRAFFIC ALERT: TRAFFIC CHANGE PLANNED ON ROUTE 655 AT ROUTE 122 INTERSECTION IN BEDFORD COUNTY

SALEM – Motorists are advised to expect changing traffic patterns on Route 655 (Diamond Hill Road) at its intersection with Route 122 in Bedford County.  Work is underway to realign this intersection, and a change in traffic pattern is planned for next week.

The exact date of the change may be adjusted as it is weather dependent.   Message boards will be in place on Route 655 to advise motorists of the upcoming traffic switch.

Starting on Tuesday, June 8, drivers should watch for flaggers and expect possible delays on Route 655 as work will be underway to prepare to shift traffic onto a newly constructed portion of roadway.
 
On Wednesday, June 9, traffic will be shifted off of existing Route 655 onto a new 1,400-foot section of roadway at its intersection with Route 122.
