TRAFFIC ALERT: LANE CLOSURE IN PLACE ON INTERSTATE 77 IN CARROLL COUNTY

SALEM – Starting today, a northbound lane closure is in place on Interstate 77 beginning at mile marker two and ending near mile marker four in Carroll County.  This three-lane section of I-77 will be reduced to two lanes. The lane closure is necessary for a rock scaling project. The project involves stabilizing the rock slope along 500 feet of northbound I-77.

Drivers should expect possible delays when traveling in this area. Mobile message boards are in place to alert drivers.

Work is scheduled to be completed by September 2012.
