TRAFFIC ALERT: SHOULDER WORK TO IMPACT TRAFFIC AT COLONIAL AVENUE ROUNDABOUT IN ROANOKE COUNTY

SALEM – Weather permitting, traffic in the roundabout on Route 720 (Colonial Avenue) at Route 687 (Penn Forest Boulevard) in Roanoke County will be impacted this week.  Crews will be pouring concrete for curbing on the shoulders in the traffic circle during nighttime hours.  

Work is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 7 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.  Flaggers will be controlling traffic in the roundabout with alternating lane closures and traffic pattern changes.

In addition, on Friday, June 8, crews will be working on the shoulders during daytime hours.  Drivers should use caution and watch for signs.

Message boards are in place to alert drivers.
