TRAFFIC ALERT: LANE CLOSURE TO IMPACT SOUTHBOUND INTERSTATE 81 TRAFFIC IN BOTETOURT COUNTY AT MILE MARKER 168

SALEM – Weather permitting, starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, the right lane of southbound Interstate 81 at mile marker 168 in Botetourt County near Buchanan will be closed.

The lane will remain closed for approximately one to two days and is expected to reopen by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 15.

Crews will be paving the right shoulder of southbound I-81 to prepare for a traffic shift as part of upcoming work on the bridge over Purgatory Creek.   This paving is weather dependent. 

Drivers should expect delays on southbound I-81.
