DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULD FOR ROUTE 8 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY
SALEM —The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a design public hearing on a proposed project to improve Route 8 (Riner Road) at the intersection of Route 669 (Union Valley Road and Fairview Church Road) in Montgomery County. The project will begin 0.237 mile south of Route 669 and end 0.191 mile north of Route 669.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, June 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Auburn Elementary School, 4315 Riner Road, in Riner.
This hearing is being held to provide an opportunity for citizens or organizations to give VDOT input on the proposed project. The hearing will be held in an open-house format with no formal presentation given. VDOT representatives will be present to discuss the proposed project and to answer questions.
The project includes constructing turn lanes at the intersection of Route 8 and Route 669 to improve safety in the area.
