VDOT HOLDS DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING FOR ROUTE 460 BYPASS AND SOUTHGATE DRIVE PROJECT IN BLACKSBURG

SALEM —The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a design public hearing to review project information for the replacement of the existing at-grade intersection of Route 460 Bypass and Southgate Drive in the Town of Blacksburg with a grade-separated interchange. Also, the proposed project includes the relocation of a section of Southgate Drive to connect to the new interchange.
  
The hearing will be held on Monday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Blacksburg Community Center, Multipurpose Room, 725 Patrick Henry Drive, Blacksburg.

This hearing is being held to provide an opportunity for citizens or organizations to give VDOT input on the proposed project.  The hearing will be held in an open-house format with no formal presentation given.  VDOT representatives will be present to discuss the proposed project and to answer questions.

Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the hearing or until October 31, 2013 by mailing them to Mr. Phillip Hammack, Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 3071, Salem, VA 24153.  Comments also can be emailed to Phillip.Hammack@vdot.virginia.gov.
