VDOT HOLDS PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING FOR ROUTE 755 CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT IN BEDFORD COUNTY

SALEM —The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting on a project to replace the culverts on a section of Route 755 (Union Church Road) in Bedford County. The project is located approximately 1.2 miles south of Union.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Montvale Public Library, 11575 West Lynchburg-Salem Turnpike in Montvale.

This meeting is being held to provide an opportunity for citizens or organizations to ask questions about the project and the required detour.  The meeting will be held in an open-house format with no formal presentation given.  VDOT representatives will be present to answer questions.

The project will consist of replacing the existing pipes on Route 755 over Shockoe Creek with a double box culvert and installing new guardrail once the roadway is restored.

Anyone requiring special assistance to attend and participate in this meeting may contact Mark McKissick, P.E. at 540-387-5353, 800-367-7623 or TTY/TDD 711.
