SALEM DISTRICT: MORE SNOW SHOWERS COULD BRING SLICK ROADS OVERNIGHT AND INTO SUNDAY MORNING
Drivers should check road conditions and use caution
SALEM – With the possibility of additional snow showers passing through southwest Virginia overnight and into Sunday morning, drivers should watch for icy spots or slick roads, particularly in the higher elevations and the counties along the West Virginia border.
Motorists should use caution overnight as bridges, overpasses and elevated surfaces may become slick or snow-covered before other areas.
The Virginia Department of Transportation will continue to monitor weather forecasts and road conditions throughout the evening and overnight hours and will be responding as necessary.
Road condition information is available using VDOT’s 511 free mobile app or the www.511Virginia.org website and phone system.
The Salem District includes the counties of Bedford, Botetourt, Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski, and Roanoke.
