TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 419 BRIDGE WORK NEAR INTERSTATE 81 IN ROANOKE COUNTY TO AFFECT MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE
Weather delays bridge work; lane closures extended into Monday morning

SALEM – Work on the Route 419 bridge over Interstate 81 in Roanoke County at the exit 141 interchange will impact traffic on Monday, March 31.

Route 419 traffic on the bridge is reduced to one lane in each direction.  Drivers should use caution in this work zone, be alert to changes in traffic pattern and expect delays.

As part of the bridge work, contractor crews shifted traffic and reduced Route 419 to one lane in each direction on Friday, March 28.  The lane closures were expected to be removed by 6 a.m. on Monday, March 31.

Windy conditions have delayed progress on the bridge work, so the lane closures will remain in place until later in the day on Monday.
