SALEM – Work has been underway to reconstruct I-81’s exit 150A as a right turn only configuration during phase three of the Exit 150 Safety Improvement Project. Beginning next week, exit 150A will close and additional lane closures will be in place as work continues.

  • Beginning Monday morning. April 30 at 6 a.m. through Tuesday, May 1 at 5 p.m., exit 150A will be closed to traffic for curb work along the new barrier wall. Travelers needing access to Route 11 southbound will need to use the roundabout off of exit 150B.
  • On Monday, April 30, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., alternating lane closures will be in place on Route 11 between Route 220 and Route 604 at Taco Bell and Shoney’s for overhead sign work.
  • On Monday, April 30, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, overhead signage work will require a right lane closure on northbound I-81 at exit 150A.
  • On Tuesday, May 1, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, alternating lane closures on southbound I-81 at the overpass will be in place for additional overhead signage work.

In addition, paving and milling operations have been scheduled for the project for the next few weeks, May 6 through May 24, weather permitting.  Alternating lane closures will be in place during nighttime hours on north and southbound Route 220 and north and southbound Route 11.

Signage and message boards will continue to alert drivers of traffic changes in the area.
