SALEM DISTRICT: ROAD CONDITIONS IMPROVED BUT DRIVERS ENCOURAGED TO USE CAUTION TONIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING

SALEM (4 p.m.) – Road conditions on interstates and primary roads have improved throughout the day today and are currently in clear to minor condition.

Crews are currently working on secondary roads and neighborhood streets and will continue to do so into the overnight hours. They will also be monitoring primary routes for icy spots and responding to downed trees.

Temperatures are expected to rise in the early morning hours but drivers should continue to use caution in shady and cooler areas as isolated slick spots may be present tonight and tomorrow morning.

To report downed trees or other roadway hazards at 1-800-FOR-ROAD (367-7623) or online at www.virginiadot.org.
