COMMONWEALTH TRANSPORTATION BOARD MEETING AGENDA CHANGE
Workshop and Business Meeting Scheduled for Sept. 17 and 18 in Winchester

RICHMOND – The agenda for the September meeting of the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB), scheduled for Sept. 17 and 18 at the Brandt Student Center on the campus of Shenandoah University in Winchester, was changed today.

The published CTB agenda was altered to accommodate one of the guest speakers who will give the CTB and others in attendance an overview of revenue impacts to transportation.

During the two-day meeting, the CTB will hear special presentations from industry experts on the impacts of state and federal funding to transportation programs in Virginia and around the nation. Special guest speakers include:

  • Jack Basso, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)

  • Professor David Hartgen, Reason Foundation

  • John Layman, Chief Economist Virginia Department of Taxation

“We are very fortunate to be joined by several national experts in transportation funding who can offer the CTB an objective view of the significant impact that the federal and state revenue forecast will have on transportation in Virginia and the United States,” said Virginia Secretary of Transportation Pierce R. Homer, who also serves as the chairman of the CTB.

The presentations by Basso and Hartgen will take place Sept. 17 near the beginning of the 2 p.m. workshop. The Layman presentation will begin at 9 a.m. Sept. 18.

This represents a change to the original published agenda, which had all three presentations on Wednesday.

The updated agenda is published at http://www.ctb.virginia.gov/meetings.asp. The address for the meeting is:

Shenandoah University
Brandt Student Center
The Ferrari Room
1460 University Drive
Winchester, VA 22601
