ALL LANES OPEN AT I-81 ROCKBRIDGE TANKER ACCIDENT
This location is between exit 191 at the I-64/I-81 interchange and exist 195 at Route 11 north of Lexington in the Timber Ridge area.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation Staunton Traffic Management Center there was a seven mile back-up at the time the lanes were reopened. The TMC anticipates all congestion to be cleared from the area by 4 p.m. TMC operators say that earlier this morning from about 3 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. both northbound lanes were closed as crews tried to move the tanker before the fuel could be totally removed.
